چکیده

SUMMARY Penetrative petro-fabrics in plutons, particularly late-stage solid-state fabrics, are usually considered to record regional tectonism. However, these fabrics fundamentally ambiguous correlate with magma-chamber processes or tectonics. Understanding the of fabric formation requires a proper understanding pluton and emplacement mechanism. In this paper, we provide case study transition from magma chamber-related magmatic within Late Triassic granitic Dushan (North China) based on multidisciplinary investigation its mechanism, including structural geology, isotope chronology, AMS data measurement, gravity modeling. The varies southwest direction megascopically isotropic monzogranite northeast an arc-shaped gneissic locally mylonitic zones along margin. compatible outward dipping mesoscopic magnetic susceptibility foliations define dome-like roof NE-SW long axis. Considering absence similar penetrative country rocks, continuum variations pluton, conditions, probably formed during emplacement. Gravity modeling suggests that has trending tongue-like shape positioned root. We propose model which was emplaced through feeder zone, beginning as sill then evolving by inflation via several batches. Later batches inflated rocks form final pluton. Magma deformed former semi-solid magma, forming curved foliation margin Several studies show North China Craton (NCC) experienced crustal extension attending Both could be more related process rather than tectonics, implying such plutons need used caution for inferring

Multi-stage emplacement of the Götemar Pluton, SE Sweden: new evidence inferred from field observations and microfabric analysis, including cathodoluminescence microscopy

The emplacement of the Mesoproterozoic Götemar Pluton into Paleoproterozoic granitoid host rocks of the Transscandinavian Igneous Belt is re-examined by microfabric analysis, including cathodoluminescence microscopy. Field data on the pluton-host rock system are used to strengthen the model. The Götemar Pluton, situated on the Baltic Shield of SE Sweden, is a horizontally zoned tabular structur...

Isotopic geochronology of granitic rocks from the Central Iberian Zone: comparison of methodologies

Five granitic rocks, concentrically disposed from core to rim, were distinguished in the Castelo Branco pluton. U-Pb-Th electron microprobe monazite ages from granitic rocks are similar and ranging between 297-303 Ma. The granitic rocks from Castelo Branco pluton are 310 ± 1 Ma old, obtained by U-Pb (ID-TIMS) in separated zircon and monazite crystals, indicating a similar emplacement age for al...

Pre-eruptive magmatic processes re-timed using a non-isothermal approach to magma chamber dynamics

Constraining the timescales of pre-eruptive magmatic processes in active volcanic systems is paramount to understand magma chamber dynamics and the triggers for volcanic eruptions. Temporal information of magmatic processes is locked within the chemical zoning profiles of crystals but can be accessed by means of elemental diffusion chronometry. Mineral compositional zoning testifies to the occu...

Magma flow within the Tavares pluton, northeastern Brazil: Compositional and thermal convection

Crystallization coupled with gravity removal of depleted interstitial melt has long been recognized as a mechanism of magma differentiation. Similarly, heat released by synplutonic basaltic magma intrusions has long been recognized as capable of driving convection in granite chambers. Direct evidence of these processes has seldom been described in granites. In the Tavares pluton, we mapped a nu...

Geochemical Characteristics and Hydrocarbon Generation Modelling of Early Triassic to Late Cretaceous Formations within Ogaden Basin, Ethiopia

The major goal of this study is the evaluation of the source rock of Ogaden Basin using Rock-Eval Pyrolysis, Vitrinite reflectance (%Ro), and well log data of the Permo-Triassic and the Mesozoic sequences including Karro, Hamanlei, and Urandab Formations. Burial history and level of thermal maturity of the Bodle-1 well, the Calub-1 well and the Hilala-2 well were modeled based on the calibratio...
